Free Fireworks Extravaganza At Stand Road Park

Monday 18th October 2010

The biggest ever Firework Display at Stand Road Recreation Ground, Whittington Moor will take place on Friday 5th November.

The annual event, hosted by Chesterfield Borough Council, starts from 6pm and entertainment will be provided by Peak FM's Breakfast show presenters Sean and Becky.

The fireworks will be lit at around 7.30pm.

Thousands of people are expected to attend so people are encouraged to arrive as early as possible.

There will also be fairground rides for younger children to enjoy and a selection of refreshment stalls providing a variety of hot food and soft drinks.

Cllr David Stone, Lead Member for Safe, Healthy and Active Communities said: "The Council puts on this free event so that local people can enjoy the firework display in as safe an environment as possible.

"A free bus service from six locations around the Borough helps make the event more accessible. We would like to stress that people must not bring any of their own fireworks."
