Which Cars Are Best For
Short Journeys?

Saturday 28th March 2020

Every motorist has different driving habits and it is important to keep these in mind when shopping for an automobile.

There are many motorists that only use their car for short journeys and this will differ heavily to someone that does a lot of motorway driving each day.

With this in mind, here is a look at what sort of car someone that generally only drives on short journeys should be looking at.

Mileage

First, it is a good idea to calculate what your average weekly mileage.

This way, you can get a rough idea of how long your journeys are and how much time you spend behind the wheel.

Type Of Car

One of the biggest decisions to make will be whether to go for a petrol, diesel or elec-tric vehicle.

Diesel is not the best option despite the higher MPG over petrol and this is because diesel costs more than gas at the pump and diesel vehicles can be more ex-pensive to buy and maintain.

Electric vehicles are actually best for those that mainly cover short distances because, like most electric appliances, they are designed to be used frequently and in relatively short bursts.

There are fewer moving parts so there is less wear and tear and you will make long term savings.

Driving Purpose

You will also need to think about what type of journeys you are typically making.

This might involve driving to work, going grocery shopping, taking kids to school etc.

This should help you to determine important factors like the size, legroom and storage requirements so that you can identify the best class of vehicle to suit your needs.

Budget

As always, you must consider your budget too and find a car that you will be able to afford to buy, run and maintain.

One good option for those that tend to only travel short distances is to lease a vehicle instead of purchasing one - this allows you to easily upgrade every few years and avoid depreciation.

Personal car leasing can bring many benefits to all types of motorist and you can get good deals on all kinds of dif-ferent vehicles.

It is important to consider your driving habits when the time comes to buy a new car.

For those that only drive short distances, you will need to think about what type of vehicle is best for your needs and this post should help you to find the perfect car for your needs.
