Two Chesterfield Fans Banned For Racist Behaviour At Torquay

Thursday 9th June 2011

Two Chesterfield fans have been given three-year football banning orders after using racist language towards a steward.

Trevor Laughton
and Joanne Worrall admitted using racially aggravated language during the Spireites' away game at Torquay on April 29th.

They were each given three year Football Banning Orders at a hearing at Torquay Magistrates Court on Thursday, June 2nd.

Laughton, 45, and Worrall, 25, both of Derwent View, Matlock, were also fined £308 and £118 respectively.

PC Allan Guy, who attended the hearing, said: "This sort of abusive language will not be tolerated and has no place in this day and age.

"These bans should serve as a warning to others that we we will come down hard on anyone involved in this kind of behaviour."
