Littering and dog fouling - We Will Find You - And We Will Fine You! Chesterfield Borough CouncilChesterfield Borough Council has collected nearly £4,000 in fixed penalty notices for dog fouling and littering during the past three months (June - Sept 2012).

The Council recently brought in a higher fine of £80 for dog fouling and notices warning the public of the new charge have been put up throughout the Borough.

The fixed penalty for littering remains unchanged at £50

Councillor Chris Ludlow, Executive Member for the Environment at Chesterfield Borough Council said: We have regular educational and promotional campaigns to highlight the danger, damage and distress that littering and dog fouling can cause.Councillor Chris Ludlow, Executive Member for the Environment at Chesterfield Borough Council (left) said: "We have regular educational and promotional campaigns to highlight the danger, damage and distress that littering and dog fouling can cause.

"However, there are still a minority of people who refuse to respect the law and our local environment by continually dropping litter or not cleaning up after their dog.

"Enforcement action is therefore inevitable and we will continue to take action so that all our communities are clean, safe and somewhere people can take pride in."
