Coming To A Screen Near You! Reds Make TV Debut And Other News

Wednesday 7th November 2012

Alfreton Town make their live TV debut on Friday night with their Blue Square Bet Premier Division home game against league leaders Newport County being screened on Premier Sports.Alfreton Town make their live TV debut on Friday night with their Blue Square Bet Premier Division home game against league leaders Newport County being screened on Premier Sports.

A thoroughly exciting game is in prospect in front of the cameras with both sides in good form of late, despite Alfreton's 2-0 defeat at Gateshead on Tuesday evening.

That was only a second reverse in the last 12 games in all competitions for Nicky Law's side who have saved all their best performances so far this season for the big games as a 3-0 home win over Luton Town, a 1-1 draw at title-chasing Forest Green Rovers and a fantastic 4-2 success at Wrexham in the FA Cup first round last Saturday, testify.

Title-chasing Newport arrive hot on the heels of a 6-2 home thrashing of Cambridge United on Tuesday night.

As one would expect, the Exiles have so far scored the most goals in the division, a total of 36 from 17 league games, and it is a total which also easily brings with it the best goal difference in the division as well.

However, Reds' Manager Nicky Law will also be keen to show the rest of the country what his side are all about, and the football they are capable of, and his options will be boosted by the return fro suspension of top scorer Dan Bradley and striker Ben Tomlinson, the latter having hit four goals in his last three games including a brace in the FA Cup win at Wrexham last weekend.

There will be no segregation for the Newport County game on Friday evening but visiting fans are requested to enter the stadium via the away turnstiles at the Alma Street end of the Impact Arena.

Kick-off on Friday night is 7.45pm and both sets of fans can save on admission on the night by purchasing Early Bird Match Tickets before 5pm on Thursday by contacting 01159 392090 extension 107.

Premier Sports can be subscribed to by accessing channel 428 on Sky.
