Can The Reds Go For A Straight Eight?

Saturday 18th September 2010
ALFRETON Town put their 100 per cent record on the line this Saturday when third-placed Boston United visits the Impact Arena in Blue Square Bet North action.

A cracking game's in prospect with Alfreton having won all eight games so far with seven goals scored and only one conceded in four home games.

Boston have made a great start after returning to the division via the Northern Premier League play-offs and arrive unbeaten on their travels so far with three wins and a draw.

The Pilgrims have amassed 16 away goals on the road and conceded just three - all of which were in a 6-3 victory at Harrogate Town.

The draw was a goalless one at Corby Town while United's other two away victories were at Hinckley United (1-0) and at Redditch United who were put to the sword to the tune of 9-0.

Boston go into the top-of-the-table clash buoyed by a 4-0 thumping of previously unbeaten Workington last Saturday and they will be a tough nut to crack having recorded six clean sheets from their eight fixtures.

Top scorers from the Pilgrims' opening eight games are Anthony Church and Shaun Pearson with five apiece while Spencer Weir-Daley has four and Danny Davidson one behind on three.

Reds boss Nicky Law has no new injury worries as his side seek a ninth successive league victory which could further extend their lead at the top of the table.

Kick-off at the Impact Arena is 3pm.
