It will fittingly take place on what is effectively the site of the old Dema Glassworks at the Spireites B2net Stadium on Saturday 25 September from 7.00pm.

There is a buffet and disco and tickets, which are now on sale from reception at the B2net Stadium, are £15.

                                       About the Dema site

Throughout the twentieth century Chesterfield was one of the country's major glass manufacturing centres, with a thriving industry along Sheffield Road - B.T.H, Lamp Caps and Dema Glass - which at its height employed a combined workforce of over three thousand people.

Dema Glass was the largest manufacturer of domestic glassware in England, and was the youngest (1923), whilst Lamp Caps, once the world's largest manufacturer of vitrous light fittings, was a year older (1922).

The B.T.H. (British Thomson-Houston) factory, which later became Glass Tubes and Components (G.T.C.) had the largest premises and workforce, and opened four years earlier in 1918.

Following the closure of the Dema Glass factory in 2001, the site was included in proposals for the regeneration of the A61/River Rother Corridor, which were Published in a Planning Brief in 2005.  A key part of these proposals was the relocation of Chesterfield Football club to the site from their current ground at Saltergate, and as they say, the rest is history!
