A Second Player Awards Evening Announced Today

Monday 7th March 2011

Chesterfield Football Club has today announced that, because of exceptional demand, they have taken the unprecedented decision to hold a second Player of the Year Awards Night to make sure as many supporters as possible are able to celebrate the end of a brilliant season.

The first evening, on Sunday 8th May, was an immediate sell-out, even before it had been fully advertised.  This led to some disappointment and criticism from fans who felt they didn't get the chance to apply for tickets.

A second Player of the Year Awards Night will now be held at the B2net on Tuesday 10th May with a similar format - two course meal and coffee, attendance by the players, the Awards Ceremony, and after-dinner entertainment, but this will be nearly half the price at just £25 a ticket or £250 per table of ten (price inclusive of VAT).

CFC director of marketing Alan Stevenson said: "To have a second night seemed the only solution so as many supporters as possible can enjoy the traditional end of season celebration at our own venue."
