Chesterfield's JPT Spotlight Falls On Spotland. Rochdale Preview

Tuesday 6th October 2015

After picking up three valuable points at Gresty Road on Saturday against Crewe, with Gardner bagging both goals, Chesterfield return to action tonight in the JPT - facing old foes Rochdale.

After picking up three valuable points at Gresty Road on Saturday against Crewe, with Gardner bagging both goals, Chesterfield return to action tonight in the JPT - facing old foes Rochdale.Having earned a 'bye' for the first round, the Spireites will hope to progress in a competition which has, in the past, served them well - with a win under John Sheridan in 2012 and a final appearance against Peterborough at Wembley under his successor Paul Cook just two years later.

Saunders will travel to Spotland without Gboly Ariyibi, still on international duty in the USA, and midfielder Sam Morsy, who picked up his 5th caution in the 2-1 victory against Crewe, and will therefore sit out a one game ban. Lee Novak remains unavailable through injury, as does Angel Martinez.

Keith Hill's Dale, currently holding on to a League One play-off spot, will be without their in form striker Henderson, with no other major injury concerns reported, though Calvin Andrew is likely to sit out the game ahead of a trip to Bramall Lane on Saturday.
