Twice As Nice

Monday 4th October 2010

A pair of High street electronics giants is hoping to prove that two in to one really will go as they prepare for the official opening of their Superstore at Ravenside Retail Park in Chesterfield.

Previously situated at opposite ends of the shopping complex, Currys and PC World will now merge into the former computer specialists unit.

The new Superstore will carry extensive ranges from both and hopes to enable customers to get the most out of their shopping experience. With a dedicated Domestic and Kitchen appliances area upstairs, numerous "experience zones" including the Gaming Console Zone, Laptop Experience Zone and TV Experience Zone downstairs, customers will be able to experience the very latest in new technologies as well as the hundreds of products within the Superstore.

And, as part of their celebrations Currys and PC World will make two donations to local charities.

On Friday 22nd October, two digital cameras will be presented to Derbyshire Proud, a local charity set up by The Derbyshire Police to promote school children's pride in their local area .The cameras will be used by school children to take photos, illustrating what makes them proud in their community and also what they would like improving. The photographs will be judged and the best will be converted to a canvas print with the winner receiving gift vouchers as a prize.

A 37" Digital Television will also be donated to The Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Charity for it's use in a fund raising raffle. Peak FM's Becky Measures, a keen supporter of the charity will be accepting the TV in store on the 23rd October.

During the opening weekend customers will be able to take part in a Treasure Hunt where they will be encouraged to identify 9 products from the store from close-up photographs. Successful entries will be entered into a prize draw to win a range of prizes.
