X-Factor Auditions Coming To Meadowhall Shopping Centre

Tuesday 1st April 2014

Meadowhall Shopping Centre has been chosen to host the 2014 X Factor auditions as the hit TV talent show returns to Sheffield for the first time since 2007.

Meadowhall Shopping Centre has been chosen to host the 2014 X Factor auditions as the hit TV talent show returns to Sheffield for the first time since 2007.

The hugely popular ITV show will be holding open auditions in the South Yorkshire Shopping Centre next month as part of a nationwide search for the next X Factor superstar.

With Sheffield home to a vibrant music scene and nurturing top talent from Joe Cocker and The Human League right through to the Arctic Monkeys and X Factor's own Lucy Spraggan, the show's producers have high hopes for their visit to the city.

The auditions will take place on Saturday 26th April, between 9am and 3pm, when budding musicians can simply turn up and sing for the chance to go on and perform in front the nation's favourite judges, who this year include music mogul Simon Cowell and Girls Aloud's Cheryl Cole.

Meadowhall Events Manager Alex Caley said: We are delighted to be hosting The X Factor auditions at Meadowhall for the first time - and we are sure we will get a great turnout as the show searches for top musical talent.

Meadowhall Events Manager Alex Caley
said: "We are delighted to be hosting The X Factor auditions at Meadowhall for the first time - and we are sure we will get a great turnout as the show searches for top musical talent.

"Sheffield has a great music scene with some extremely gifted acts, so I am sure we will see some of our local musicians go through to the next stage, where they will get the chance to meet the judges and hopefully even be on our TV screens for the live shows."
