Match Reports
13th - 14th November 2010

Monday 15th November 2010

PANTHERS (2nd XV's)  55 - 8 HOPE VALLEY(2nd XV's)

The game began with both sides exchanging attacks and neither really getting the upper hand until Panthers managed to work some space for Phil Cawthorne to touch down.

A Hope Valley penalty reduced the arrears before Cawthorne ran in a second try. A try from Toby and a Josh Townsend conversion gave Panthers a comfortable lead of 17 - 3 at half time.

Panthers started the second half strongly and a quick hat trick of tries from Richard Cooke put the game beyond the reach of Hope valley.

Gary Bates came on for the final quarter and soon got on the score sheet with a brace of tries and a final one for Josh Townsend with conversions from Tony Gelsthorpe and Phil Cawthorne sealed a good win for the Panthers.

Man of the match was Gary Bates.

BELPER (U17's)  10 - 31 PANTHERS (U17's)

Panther's latest league encounter brought a creditable victory against a strong Belper side.

Captain Jess Vardy set the ball rolling for Chesterfield with his first try of the season midway through the first half and then Conal Siddall touched down with his first try for the club after four years of trying. Sam Curry converted.

Belper hit back with a try just before the break to leave the score 12 - 5 to the visitors at half time.

Second half tries from Sam Parkes, George Crane and Greg Hopkinson with two more conversions from Curry tied up the game for the Chesterfield team.

Man of the Match for the Panthers was Max Adlington.

SPALDING (U16's)  19 - 39 PANTHERS (U16's)

Panthers made the very long trip to Lincolnshire and were rewarded with an excellent win over a good Spalding team.

Tries came from Rob Davison (2), Liam Stoddart, Joe Pursglove, Joe Dickenson and Iian Taylor. Taylor also kicked four conversions.

Man of the Match was Rob Davison.

PANTHERS (U16 B's)  20 - 22 ROTHERHAM TITANS (U16's)

Panthers were unlucky to end as losers in a well fought game following a spirited performance.

Tries from James Croydon, Danny Bates, Joe Humphries and Alex Bates plus a Danny Drew conversion were just not quite enough to give them a share of the spoils.

The man of the match vote was split between Connor Decoster and Danny Bates.

PANTHERS (U14's)  57 - 5 WEST BRIDGEFORD (U14's)

Panther’s Under 14's continued their impressive winning run with this comprehensive victory at Stonegravels.

Having been under early pressure, some strong defensive work from Matt Lamin prevented a score for the visitors and from a resulting scrum on their own 5 metre line carried the ball the length of the field for Alex Winnard to score.

From then on it was one way traffic as  the Chesterfield team took total control.

Tries came from Matt Lamin, Joe Early, Kane Samuels, Matt Gude, James Marshall (3) and Ricky Burrell. Conversions from Tom Pollitt (4) and Joe Early (2) completed an excellent performance for the team.

Man of the match was Ben Finney.

PANTHERS (U13's)  5 - 55 BAKEWELL (U13's)

Coming up against a strong Bakewell team, the Panthers side never gave up trying and in particular the forwards put in a good performance against a much stronger Bakewell pack.

Try scorer for Panthers was the Man of the Match Matthew White.
