EAST LEAKE (1st XV)  12 - 18 PANTHERS (1st XV)

Panthers took arguably the youngest side in the league to third placed East Leake and pulled off a great win.

Not only did they win but they performed exceedingly well and the margin of victory could have been greater.

Having dominated the first half, Ant Barnett opened up the score after a great surging run by Tom Arnold who made 15 yards with four defenders hung on his back. Ant converted. The interval came with Panthers up by 7 points to 3.

The sides swapped penalties in the second half before the Panthers forwards took control and allowed space for the impressive Frank Deinner to touch down. A drop goal from Ant Barnett completed the scoring and a fine return to winning ways.

The referee's nomination for best forward went to Ricky Poulter and best back to Tom Arnold.

BELPER (3rd XV)  14 - 32 PANTHERS (2nd XV)

Panthers travelled for what was a very even game that could have gone either way and came away with the spoils.

The scoring was started by John Kelly who scored from close range after some excellent forward play. Tony Gelsthorpe added a second try then ran around the Belper defence to score in the corner, Belper replied with a converted try to make it 10-7.

With good ball getting to the backs further tries came from Jordan Adams, James Williams and Tony Gelsthorpe, who's conversion brought up the final tally for the Panthers.

Man of the match was Jonathon Sully.

PANTHERS (U17's)  13 - 5 SOUTHWELL (U17's)

Chesterfield entertained Southwell at the Stonegravels ground in their latest league encounter and enjoyed a hard fought victory in a game between two evenly matched teams, where no quarter was given.

Chesterfield were on the scoreboard first with a well taken penalty, kicked by Sam Curry. This stirred the visitors and ended when, after great defence by the home team, they crossed the try line to lead  5 - 3 at half time.

In the second half Chesterfield were so dominant that Southwell only crossed the half way line twice. Jordan White picked the ball up at full-back and with a chip and chase caused mayhem in the visitor's defence before touching down to score. Chesterfield's first try of the match.

The forwards then got in on the act when a charging Ben Sommerton crashed over the line to score. A tense last few minutes followed but the home side ran out worthy winners.

Man of the Match was Jordan White.

MOSBOROUGH (U16's)  20 - 22 PANTHERS (U16's)

Early forward pressure got the Panthers B team off to a great start with Connor Decosta powering over the line to score. Similar followed from a 5 metre lineout and Andy Castledine went over.

Danny Drew was next to score and Tom Heath converted to give Panthers a comfortable 17 - 5 half time lead.

The second half saw Joe Humphries to run the length of the pitch to score.

Mosborough scored twice late on to bring the result close but the Panthers hung on for a well deserved win.

Man of the match was Andy Castledine.

BAKEWELL (U14's)  10 - 40 PANTHERS (U14's)

A local derby played in cold conditions saw the travelling Panthers side come out on top.

Tries came from William Croydon, Nick Foan, Matt Keeley, James Marshall (2) and Alistair Taylor with conversions from Taylor (4) and Tom Pollitt completing the scoring.

Joint men of the match were Matt Keeley and Matt Ford.

PANTHERS (U13's)  17 - 10 NOTTINGHAM BOOTS CORSAIRS (U13's)

Chesterfield began their NLD Shield campaign with an impressive victory over a strong Nottingham team.

An early break from a set scrum by Matt White brought the first try. This was followed by a try from Joe Heath who then converted to give a 12 - 0 lead at half time.

A determined Nottingham side returned to the pitch at the start of the second half and they pulled a try back before regained the initiative with a Jack Large try.

Although Nottingham kept the pressure on and broke through for a second try in the dying minutes, the Panthers held on to record a victory.
