Former Barlow resident Didier Rochard, (below), co-founder of vocal group London Contemporary Voices, recently collaborated with Mercury Prize nominee and bookies' favourite, Alt-J, for their set at Reading Festival, providing a choral backdrop for the band with a live broadcast on Huw Stephens' BBC Radio 1 show.

No stranger to the limelight, LCV was originally formed as a scratch choir to perform with Grammy-award winning artist Imogen Heap at the Royal Albert Hall in November 2010. The concert was recorded for release on DVD and streamed live on the internet in HD to an audience of almost half a million.

Didier says, "It's been amazing to collaborate with such credible artists. Singing with Alt-J (below) at Reading is exactly where we want to be taking our vocal group. In just two years, it's an incredible achievement to be singing at world-renowned music festivals and prestigious venues."

Now 40 strong, London Contemporary Voices is to celebrate its second year with an anniversary concert on the 3rd of November. With an impressive history of performances including a music-fashion-dance extravaganza with ten London Universities at the famous Troxy nightclub; providing a choral soundtrack for an evening of short films at the Cinema Museum and performing at the opening gala for Open City London Film Festival, this vocal group is going from strength to strength.
