Ginny Davies Appears In 'Something Fishy' On Her Hollingwood Hub Return

Monday 24th February 2014

After her wonderful performance of 'Double Booked' last year, the Chesterfield Canal Trust is delighted to welcome Ginny Davis (below) back to the Hollingwood Hub.

After her wonderful performance of 'Double Booked' last year, the Chesterfield Canal Trust is delighted to welcome Ginny Davis back to Hollingwood Hub.

Something Fishy
is the latest in the Ruth Rich saga. It is a witty and entertaining show in the style of television favourites Outnumbered and My Family, describing a middle aged mum's efforts to keep everything running smoothly as chaos unfolds.

All goes to hell in a handcart when Ruth's typical teenage son, Fred, is banned from school trips so severely that he can only participate in a trip to Morocco if his mother chaperones him. Clueless daughter Ellie is left behind in charge of everything at home… why is Ruth the only one unable to recognise a hilarious recipe for disaster?

The plot moves between England and Morocco and Ginny Davis' performance is wonderful, as she cleverly portrays every single character, including Ruth's batty and hard of hearing Welsh mother. Families and friends often laugh out loud when they recognise themselves and each other on stage!

"It's sometimes hard to believe we are watching just one actor on stage. The pace stays swift, and the passage from one character to the next is seamless" reads the review from FringeGuru.

Ginny is at the Hollingwood Hub on Wednesday, 12th March at 7.30 p.m. All tickets cost £8
